Why do weekends go by so quickly??

Our weekend was pretty crazy but Friday night was so relaxing!!!! After work Ryan & I hung out just the two of us!! We were planning on going out to dinner but last minute decided we didn't want to get ready (well I guess I didn't want to get ready) so we had dinner at home!! It was so nice to just relax & cuddle on the couch! No where to go, no one to meet up with, just Ry & I ... & the beagle on one little couch!

Then Saturday Ryan & I hung out during the day, I was bummed he had to work at 4pm because we had a graduation party to go to. One of our friends Josh, just graduated from Purdue's Pharmacy school & his parents were throwing him a party - BOILER UP!! Luckily Loren, Ryan's step-sister was going to be staying with us so she came with me!! Saturday night Loren & I took the long trek to Greenwood (approx 45 minutes away) to celebrate with Josh & his friends & family! It was a great time & there was SOOOO much food! I really should have taken a picture of the food spread because they had everything!! I had fun with Loren staying with us & since she just got a job at the Children's Museum I am sure she will be staying with us more often!!

Sunday morning Ryan & I got up extra early & headed to Lafayette. I had a bridal shower to go to for my friend Brooke in Dyer, IN (by Schererville/Merrillville) & I was meeting Amber in Lafayette so we could go together! Since I was meeting Amber in Lafayette, Ryan & I planned a whole day out of it. Ryan golfed with Taylor (his step-brother) & a couple friends while I went to the shower! The shower was so beautiful! It was at a steak house & I had ribeye for lunch... I loved it!! Brooke & Steve are so cute together & I am so happy for them! They got a lot of great gifts & I can't wait until their wedding 9/2/2011!! I really enjoyed the drive to the shower because it gave me 3 hours to have girl talk with my lovely sister!! This seems like a long time but the time really flew by, we laughed the whole time-- I love my sissy sooo much! Mid afternoon after I got back to Lafayette we all hung out at Ryan's Dad's house & had a cookout! We played yard games & had a great meal! I love the time we get to spend in Lafayette with family. We don't live that far away but with everyone having jobs & stuff going on we really have to plan time together!!
Hope you all are having a great Tuesday!!
If you are having a bad day or want a good laugh, watch this ---> http://youtu.be/U0o5ARdrwII --it's a kid that gave a motivational speech after riding his bike!! He is so cute & pumped up!!

Nursing Info Session

On Tuesday I had my first Nursing School meeting :) We went over a lot of information, found out all the fees that go along with being in the program & signed a paper so they could sign us up for classes!! We do not get to pick our own class times they randomly assign us times, so hopefully my schedule isn't horrible. (who am I kidding regardless of my schedule I am so excited to get started) We also got uniform information, we have to wear white tops w/ logo & green pants with white shoes (plain leather) & long white socks!! At the meeting I sat at a table with 7 other women, I thought it was interesting we all had similar stories of our wait to get into Nursing School-- it's good to know you are not alone! I did notice that most of the other students were older. There were a total of 90 students which included a handful of men & a lot of older women! All the women at my table had children (one had 6 & another had 5)!! I couldn't imagine going to school & taking care of a family, KUDOS to them!! I think it is great they are going back to get their RNs. I can't wait to have mine & I can't wait to begin my other dreams!! I will probably be in school for-EV-ER... can you be a lifetime student? lol I should graduate December of 2012 with my RN (Associates Degree)!!!!! After that I plan on working & going back to get my bachelor's degree so I can then go on to get my MASTERS!!

In August the journey begins =)

p.s. I won't be riding the bus when I go back to school just liked the picture lol

HAPPY THURSDAY!!!!!!!

Computer Problems!

Our laptop is dead :(
On Tuesday night it started to do strange things & it did not allow me to search for anything on Google & then our toolbar with all of our favorite pages saved was gone. Then all the sudden all of these pop ups started coming up. It was this specific site called "Vista Anti-virus/spy ware" so I thought it was a program we had that was expiring. It asked if I wanted to install the program & I said no remind me later but it continued to pop up. Then all night I could not get into Internet explorer with out this page popping up. The page acted like it was trying to help against viruses but the next morning I found out it was a virus. The site was so deceiving because it pretended to be a spyware/virus protector & all you had to do was pay $59.99! At one point I said to Ryan, should we just buy this? I'm so glad I didn't!!! After I found out it was a virus, I was so bummed & tried to do a lot of research online at work to see if I could fix it. I know my way around a computer but I don't know a lot about programing. I could not even view my documents or pictures which really freaked me out because I have 5 years of pictures saved (of course not a lot backed up) :( I love taking pictures & I couldn't imagine not having them. So Wednesday morning I called around to different computer places & found a person in Zionsville called the Village Geek. Ryan & I dropped off the computer on my lunch break. The Village Geek said he probably wouldn't know what is wrong with it until Thursday morning (today). Well that all changed because he called me an hour later & told me my hard drive is bad & he couldn't even get to the virus yet because of the bad hard drive. So he gave me 3 options 1: repair our computer for $450 -they would put in a new hard drive 2: buy a new computer, they had an offer for $499- and they would move our old documents & pictures to the new computer 3: just get the pictures & documents for $200. In the beginning this whole thing was suppose to be $150 to remove the virus or they call it a "clean" so all of these prices were a big change! Ryan & I talked about it for a while & we decided on buying the new computer. We get our old one back & Ryan's uncle works on computers we might see if he can figure something out. I just wanted all of our pictures & documents so I hope they can retrieve them! So now we will be with out a computer until the beginning of next week!!

HEY MAYBE I CAN GET AN APPLE MACBOOK :) ...

HOPE YOU ALL ARE HAVING A GREAT THURSDAY!!!
**** update- Ryan went to pay for our new computer & the guy @ Zionsville Village Geek said the computer would get in tomorrow morning. Ryan then asked how long until our old documents & pictures are on the new computer & the guy said the $499 did not include transfer of documents!!!! Are you kidding me?!?!? Both Ryan & I talked to the guy separately & he told us both the price included the transfer. The guy said we must have had a communication error!! Doesn't even make sense...So Ryan just got our documents & pictures for $150 (which was different than he quoted me in the beginning)
We are starting our hunt for a new laptop if any of you have a recommendation let us know!! Our last laptop we bought 4 years ago & it was a Gateway *RIP*

Family, Friends & Food =)

I really love having time off on the weekends & again I had a great weekend!! I love relaxing, sleeping in & making plans with family & friends. Unfortunately Ryan & I normally do not have weekends off together. I wish we could both be on the same schedule but for right now that is not possible.

Friday we had plans with Ryan's Grandma Rose & Grandpa Harold to go to dinner. They were coming in town to see Diana's (Ryan's stepmom) ceramic pieces @ Brickyard Ceramics & Craft Gallery. The Brickyard closed at 4 so I knew I wouldn't be able to go but they offered to take us to dinner after! ::Side note: Last Wednesday we received a text introducing Grandma & Grandpa May's new puppy, Luigi! He is an 11 week old bichon & so cute!!:: The Mays brought Luigi along & he was at our apartment when I got home from work. I was so excited to meet him & if you know me, you know I love puppies!! Luigi would run around, sleep, run around & sleep! He loved jumping & tried to be a dare devil a couple times jumping out of my arms! After looking at the Gallery Ryan, Grandma & Grandpa came back to our apartment we had a couple cocktails & played a couple card games-which by the way Harold & I won or for a better word DOMINATED :) After the card games we went to dinner at Bravo, we had a great meal! After dinner Harold & Rose went home & we went to Bella Vita to have a couple drinks outside with Katelyn, her hubby Ryan & a couple of their friends. Friday night was such a great night to sit outside & enjoy the weather.

Saturday I went to the Children's Museum with Glen & Diana (Ryan's Dad & Stepmom) & Diana's mom Pat to see an exhibit that Loren (Ryan's step sister) helped to research & did dive digs in the Dominican Republic. Her Professor (Beeker) found Captain Kidd's ship that has been under water for 300 years. We listened to the Professor for around an hour & then looked at the exhibit! It was so interesting & I wish Ryan could have been there because he loves pirates!! I had not been to the Children's Museum for years & it so fun seeing all the exhibits as an adult. After the museum we went back to our apartment relaxed & played a card game while we waited on Taylor (Ryan's step brother) to get off work. For dinner Diana decided on Traders Point Creamery! Working in Zionsville I have heard so much about this restaurant/creamery but never tried it. I'm sure most of you have seen their milk in stores & it is delicious! Traders Point is an organic dairy farm & their food was amazing! All I heard the whole meal was everyone complimenting everything they were eating! I had the Chef's Cut -a ribeye & it was so tender & yummy!!! All of us also had dessert & they have the best desserts ever! Ryan had a chocolate milk shake made with chocolate milk & I had a chocolate torte! Their ice creams were so creamy, if you are every in Zionsville or by the Northwest side of Indy you should definitely stop by & at least have dessert! After dinner Taylor came back to our house & a couple of his friends joined us, we played some drinking games & hung out the whole night.

Glass exhibit- the colors were so pretty!!

Loren & I with the PIRATES!!!!

Loren & Professor Beeker's life size picture on the wall in the museum! They were all proud to rep IU... but me... not so much lol

Sunday we woke up wanting to have SUNDAY-FUNDAY!! We relaxed by the pool all day & Amber even joined us! Unfortunately we were outside to long because Taylor & I are now FRIED to a crisp & it is painful! After being outside for way to long we went to dinner at La Piedad in Broad Ripple. My sister Amber recommended it & she was right, it was great! I saw all these people walking around with ice cream cones & I couldn't resist finding where they were coming from. We followed our noses to the Broad Ripple Ice Cream Station (BRICS) & I had a waffle cone with cotton candy & butler pecan!

Look at Taylor's tan lines from one day!! haha

This weekend was filled with lots of family, friends & food! My favorite F's :)

Hope you all had a great weekend!! xo

What a weekend!!

This weekend was a lot of fun! On Friday Ryan & I went to Lafayette with Archie. We stayed at Judi's house (Ryan's mom) & went to dinner at La Scala! Ben & Sara (Ben's girlfriend) met Judi, Ryan & I at the restaurant & it was a great dinner. La Scala is one of my two favorite restaurants in Lafayette so I was pumped to have some great Italian food! After dinner we all went back to Judi's to have an ice cream cake she made & it was soooo delicious! I am going to get the recipe from her & post it on here because I know lots of people will enjoy it too! It is made with ice cream sandwiches & Judi says it is really easy to make! After we were all stuffed with food & cake we all sat around the table & chatted, I had a great time! Just recently Ryan & I met Sara and I've really enjoyed our time with her. In the beginning I thought she was really quiet but I think after hanging out with her a couple times she has really opened up. I have enjoyed observing her & Ben's relationship. They really seem happy together & that makes me happy! I look forward to getting to know her better as the time goes on!

Saturday was Kyle & Taylor's wedding in Lafayette! It was such an amazing day! The wedding was very quick & the reception was a lot of fun! Taylor & Kyle were high school sweethearts & have dated forever! We all went to the same high school so it was fun getting to catch up with other wedding guest who I haven't seen in a while. Congrats to Mr. & Mrs. Pearl :) we hope you have a lifetime of happiness!!

Friday night after dinner! The beagles wanted to both be on Ryan's lap! Archie is on the left & Doug, Judi's beagle, is on the right! They are both tri-colored beagles but they're so different!
