I CAN NOT BELIEVE this week is Christmas!! It doesn't seem like December, let alone the end of December. My first semester of nursing school is done and I am somewhat happy with my grades. I got 4 A's and 2 B's. I knew I was going to get one B but I didn't know or expect to get the 2nd one. I missed an A by 3 points... not percent, POINTS!!! The grading scale is different too because a 92% and above is an A. I was upset the day I found out about the B but now I am over it & I will just have to make sure that doesn't happen next semester. I am ok with A&B's in nursing school. They told us in orientation that we are used to getting all A's and to not expect that! They warned us haha I'm sooooo happy the semester is over!! On to semester 2, right now I'm 25% of the way done. (with my first degree)

Today I started back to work at my old office. I have a little bit of free time during winter break & haven't worked all semester so thought I should work a few days. There are only 4 girls in the office and one of them is having surgery so I am filling in for her for 3 weeks. It was so strange to go back to work. I had to call the help desk to get all of my passwords, guess I should have jotted them down before I left lol. Today I worked a half day but tomorrow I'm working all day so that should be interesting.

Sick Sick Sick

I AM SICK!!!!! Why does this always happen to me?!?! I was so excited to have a week off school for Thanksgiving break! We didn't get a Fall Break in October so to make up for it the Nursing School gave us all this week off. I don't know why but I always get sick during breaks or vacations! Last Thursday I started to feel bad & I have no clue what is wrong with me. I sleep all the time & just feel blahhhh. I'm going to the Doctor tomorrow (actually his NP) but hopefully she has some answers for me! I hate being sick & I'm the biggest baby in the world when I am sick! At first I thought maybe mono because of the amount of sleep I am getting. I love sleeping normally but this is not normal.
For example: Last night I went to bed around 1am woke up at noon (11 hours) then fell back asleep around 2pm and woke up at 6pm (4 more hours) & right now sitting here typing I know I could curl back up in bed & go to sleep! This has happened the last 4 days. Sleeping this much should make me feel refreshed but NO I feel worst, like I am wasting my days. When I try to do something I am so tired though! OH WELL ... enough about my sickness! I hope to get better soon!
THE MAIN THOUGHT IN MY HEAD LATELY HAS BEEN:
ONLY 3 WEEKS LEFT---> OF MY 1ST SEMESTER OF NURSING SCHOOL!!
I can't believe the end of the semester is already here! It hasn't gone quickly but it is nice to know it is almost the end of my 1st semester. Only 3 more to go!! :)

Weekly update

Last week was a great week for me @ school! In my last blog I said how hard the week was going to be & it did not disappoint me (not that it would be a disappointment if it wasn't hard lol) but you get the point. I spent almost every day studying after school & completed 1 quiz, 1 test, 1 mid-term exam, 1 paper, 1 competency & 1 clinical day!
On my quiz I got a 20/20, test 44/50, midterm 19/20, paper 20/20 & competency 20/20!!!!!! It was such a relief to get good grades all week. In the beginning I had a hard time adjusting to going back to school, just getting the hang of what to study & prioritizing. Med-Surg is BY FAR my hardest class. I spend the most time studying/preparing for the class. I have a love/hate relationship with it, I love what I am learning & I'm so excited to use it in the "real world" but hate all the studying and time I put into this class. I am not exaggerating when I say I DO NOT HAVE A LIFE because of Med Surg!! :) I just keep telling myself it will all pay of in a couple more semesters when I am an RN!!!
This week should be a lot better, only a possible quiz in Med-Surg on Tuesday & a competency on Thursday. I am looking forward to this upcoming weekend. On Saturday Ryan's family is coming to Indy to hang out with us. We are going to get dinner & hopefully meet up with The Marandos for drinks!! Sunday I am going to the Drake concert in Illinois with my sister and friends! Ryan has to work so he will not be joining in the trip to Illinois. I saw Drake in concert when he came to Indy last year & I'm so excited to see him again. I love his songs & his voice!!
